I didn't see any mention of who elevated the judge to the bench. Since it's not mentioned, and it's in Truthout, I assume probably they weren't elevated by a Republican? Sounds like the judge felt his hands were tied due to fascist Fifth Circuit's recent decision letting Angola officials off the hook.
This is an absolute freaking travesty, this whole picture. Fucking disgusting.
