Given the margins Platner won by in the primary, I really feel that him leaving the race will hand the Senate seat to Susan Collins. With no time left for investigations/defense - that's just too convenient. It's a sorry situation. Lose a Senate seat or accept a candidate who will have no opportunity to defend himself. Anybody remember Al Franken?
