(14,705 posts)You should know that is a trigger in here. As well as the cynical sarcastic straw man tactic of putting words in her mouth, interpreting what she said for her. Interpreting it simplistically to wanting single payer healthcare. And that that would be the answer to everything. And worse, you didn't just say she thought that, but insinuated that Bernie and all Bernie supporters are as simplistic naive and unrealistic.
That is what is divisive. At one time DU was overwhelmingly for Bernie. Many have been chased out, but you should be aware that there still are many on here that originally were for Bernie and his dreams of starting the conversation on single payer. You knew very well you were poking the nest. And its not helpful. Especially when the OP is about something else.
Also, I find it wrong-headed to spend time demonizing those that are impatient. Those that want it all now. Single Payer, higher min. wage. Money out of politics, fairer justice system and police training. Those that want the same things as most of us, just faster than can probably be achieved. Bernie works within the Washington establishment...he is more of pragmatist. Some, looking back at how the tables have turned so far to the right during the last 30 - 40 years, with Democrats not doing enough to stop it in their opinion, are impatient and pissed off and want to see change NOW. While I take issue with that kind of drastic outlook, I also don't blame them for getting frustrated. It is up to the Democratic party to win them back with more progressive traditional Democratic proposals. Instead of chasing the elusive DINO voter. More importantly, we should be fighting Trump, the GOP, and the deplorables that support them and actually voted for him, than this sad continual deflection pushing this fake false equivalency narrative.
ps. I did not see who wrote your post before I read it. I wasn't "messing around" with you. I do not respond to people, but to what I read. I may agree with a person on one thread, and find myself disagreeing with them on another.
