Congress won't do it's part in all this. And even if we take the House next year, the Senate won't vote to impeach. And the courts by themselves cannot make contempt citations and fines stick. So from a practical standpoint, the regime can do whatever it wants. Only the people can stop them, but as large as the outrage is, it's not large enough. Roughly 1/3 of the populace is OK with this cruelty and evil because they're just as cruel and evil.

That's why, baring a miracle, I've moved on from the conventional approaches and fully embrace regional separatism. The country I once loved is dead for all practical purposes. We all knew our system had some serious flaws, but hoped we'd never reach a point where those flaws were exploited to the max by evil people. We could always rely on people of good conscience to make sure we didn't go there. Not anymore. In my mind, it's time for some of us to leave in whatever manner that may be. And anyone who wants to leave with us is welcome.
