IIRC, whoever was running the front company was prosecuted. (The funding turned out to be Russian, naturally). Of course, Southern and Kirk et al. got away with it, but I know Southern was compelled to testify (the footage was on YouTube). I'm not sure if Kirk testified, but at the very least, he had to hire a very expensive national-security law firm--almost certainly one in Canada. Then there are the travel costs, etc. I know Kirk has his sugar daddy funding him, but at least they were forced to waste a bunch of money on a legal case they could have easily avoided. As I said, anyone older than a kindergartener should have seen it coming a mile away.
