No religion produces these people. It's the evil in the people themselves, which is often mindless selfishness and sometimes intentional harm to others. Free will, like freedom, can be used irresponsibly. It's easy to hate. Hard to love. Jesus (who these people don't follow) wasn't about religion. He was about loving God and loving one's neighbor and using one's free will to forgive and not to succumb to selfishness. As the late Pope Francis said, "Selfishness is stupid."

As Biden said a number of times, this about light and dark. It's our calling to be a light and persevere in doing good, because the good attracts others to be better. And like Obama said, "Better is good." Biden taught Obama a lot.

But we've got three years to go. We'll be tempted to hate over the next three years, but we'll just kill our energy by doing that, so it's good to encourage each other, as our Democratic politicians do when they convene town halls in republican districts.
