More accurately, several related conditions were included in a single spectrum. It is still colloquially referred to as Asperger, even among medical professionals.

Ok, I will not smear you, I will quote you instead: "Yes, autistics are like a dog with a bone when it comes to their focus on what others may consider unimportant."

You know what you said. You had choices and analogies that did not include comparisons to dogs. You picked the one that did. I suggested that you might want to reconsider comparing autistics to dogs. Tone deaf, I said. Is this what counts as a smear?

Save your righteous indignation for when I begin comparing dogs to cats. Now that would be the bottom. and a dishonest ridiculous smear. I just don't know against whom. Probably both parties would vociferously object to such indignity.
