( likewise the 20th century — which is why no one actually tried) The Speaker of the House is another sanctimonious jerk who believes God talks to him in this fashion. Trump has no religious feelings, he just loves chaos, cruelty, and bloodshed.
Regarding the highly colored and imaginative maps in some editions of Bibles popular in America, not everyone has one in their home, altho the Evangelicals probably do. It’s just that as a child in the 1950s I would read anything in print, and I remember my more conservative Protestant friends had these colorful maps in their holy books. I remembered this many decades later when this insane “restoration of Biblical boundaries” idea got publicity. In my mind’s eye I overlaid that over a modern map of the ME and all I could see was a huge war
