2. Cartoon villainy comes naturally to these folks

I had no idea. All that time watching superhero movies and sci-fi series, I thought the villains were deeply fictional, sometimes believably villainous, sometimes not. I didn't understand that some freakazoids saw these fictional characters as role models.

They really brought that cartoonishly evil mindset to life. I once thought a lot of that crap was melodramatic and cheesy, but they looked at a concept like "big prison in swamp with alligator moat" and saw a good federal policy idea instead of an 8-year-old boy's bored notebook doodle at the end of an uneventful school day.
