9. Apparently it is just too hard to do the decent thing

All who aspire to positions of power have, to my mind, something a bit off about them. This feeling is captured by the succinct apocryphal aphorism generally attributed to Plato: "Only those who do not seek power are qualified to hold it."

I do not live in NYC (although did at one point a long time ago) but to me it seems that having a young, committed Democrat as mayor would be a good thing for the city. Much more so than an openly corrupt MAGA guy.

All who care about democracy should unite behind Assemblyman Mamdani. This is, as was the 2024 Presidential Election, really too important to lose to the dictatorship—it would be nice if we could learn from that disaster!

Cuomo should withdraw and place his support behind Mr Mamdani.
