DISCLAIMER: I have now been informed that Pinback was making a joke, and it appears that the joke was on ME!
You know the old saying about hearing hoof beats and expecting to see horses rather than zebras? I think that applies here.
Plague is extremely rare in the U.S. According to the CDC, an average of only 7 cases a year are reported in this country, mostly in the southwest. (Source: https://www.cdc.gov/plague/maps-statistics/index.html)
Congestive heart failure, otoh is quite common, especially in older folks. The CDC says that In the United States, nearly 6.7 million adults 20 years old or older have heart failure. (Source: https://www.cdc.gov/heart-disease/about/heart-failure.html)
If we think of Trump's symptoms as hoof beats, I think it's much more likely that they're coming from congestive heart failure (horses in this analogy) than from a vanishingly rare disease like plague (zebras). I don't know who these smart people are who are theorizing about him having plague, but it really sounds like a stretch to me.

Is the Irish Star credible? They were the only ones who printed a story about chained prisoners washing up on a beach...
