In reply to the discussion: Trump admin denies helping Israeli official charged with child sex crimes in Nevada [View all]Mosby
(18,914 posts)24. Stings don't prevent crime, they create crime.
And it's not just men who molest kids, its also women.
One scenario:
An undercover cop dresses like a homeless person, using old, dirty clothes, he or she is messy, dirty hair, smells bad. They lay down on the sidewalk, with a 20 dollar bill sticking out of their shirt pocket and pretends to be passed out from a couple hits of fentanyl. Another homeless person comes by and grabs the bill out of their pocket, was this theft or entrapment?
The right answer is entrapment.
