Pennsylvania must stop throwing out mail ballots over date errors, court rules

6. In the bizarre lead-up to getting what we call here in PA - the "no-excuse absentee ballot"

(a/k/a "mail ballots" ) the GOP, who held both chambers of our legislature at the time (2019, where we had a (D) governor), were willing to actually allow "mail voting" (regular absentee ballots weren't impacted) in exchange for getting rid of "straight party ticket voting", where pushing one button or filling in one paper ballot circle, would vote for the entire (D) or (R) slate (which was killing them). Along with that though, they added this extra stuff (the ballots already have barcodes and Division info, etc) by having the date/signature requirement for the ballot envelopes.

I am hoping to hell that (D)s here can somehow take the state Senate and finally get a trifecta. We were able to take the state House in 2022 for the first time in a dozen years, and able to barely maintain it after the 2024 election. We are gonna have to get people really pissed off enough to vote AND vote for (D)s, and not just throw their hands up.
