I mean, yes, the father is a trauma surgeon who has worked with the ICRC in war zones around the world like South Sudan. So he's done a lot of good. And given the timeline, he was probably already a surgeon, or a surgeon in training, when they came in. It was not a "refugee" situation.

The killer was an awful person at the end; but he hadn't been associated with extremism. Most of his life does not seem to have been a problem. So your idea that his first name indicated he was destined to be evil is just - bonkers.
