Trump's first term two things kept getting in his way. Well, three things, but I'm not talking about the foolish incompetence of his minions. 1) The courts, and 2) the Constitution. The Republicans have packed the supreme court and many of the lower courts with reich-wing extremists and they have been working for decades on a new Constitutional Convention.

Most of the US doesn't understand where we are now, or how we got here. It is too much to expect them to understand what we must do when the end product of the digestive process hits the electrical oscillating appliance and they are panicked.
Education of the electorate should begin immediately, before people are desperate.
