3. Most of my house cats have been good hunters despite being fed every day.

My present boy caught a big squirrel and had a HUGE woodpecker in his grasp but the bird got away - thankfully! His teeth had to be pulled due to his gum disease so his hunting days are over but he still chases insects. I'd bet his instincts kick in quickly when he gets hungry.
