Have you used a service called Green Dot Money Pak to load $ on Paypal? [View all]

Beware. Be careful.

A family member and I tried to do that to transfer an amount under $100 to an existing Paypal account.

How it's supposed to work: You buy a Money Pak card any place where gift cards are sold. Then you go to the Internet and type in the numbers on the Money Pak card you bought, and provide your Paypal info. This is supposed to immediately load the money to Paypal.

Whoops
It didn't work. Wouldn't accept the info. Said "try back later"!

So I went to google. Apparently Green Dot Money Pak has significant customer service problems and a call center in India. They don't even answer the damn telephone! Some people who have experienced a problem have had to threaten to report them to the state AG before getting satisfaction.

So be careful out there, kids.

Oh, and the kicker is this. The receipt I got at the store says "no refunds" on prepaid cards.
