New knitter needs some help please.

Love to see people knitting, been doing it forever.
You have 4 inches of ribbing, K1P1, then a row of yo, k2tog,then garter stitch, k every row. You did stockinette in place of the garter, which is fine. Generally, knitting patterns are even rows are right side, odd are wrong side. So, your K3 *yo, K2tog* K2 row would be wrong side.
And sure, your six rows between the yo, k2 tog rows can be whatever you want.
Really, the more you knit, the more fun it is.
