Oasis - first headline stadium concerts, April 27 & 28, 1996, at Manchester's Maine Road. Both full concerts. [View all]

Noel was surprised when first told they were going to be playing a stadium - and this was at the home of their favorite football team, Manchester City.

Another surprise was their crew showing John Lennon, Liam's idol, on the screen behind the band during "Live Forever" - see Liam's reaction near the end of the song in the first video.

These were historic concerts for Oasis and their fans. The second night provided many of the tracks on their second video - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...There_and_Then - and a lot of their fans name it as their best concert. But the first night was also very good. Even what Liam wore then is still getting attention. Sportswear company Umbro are rereleasing the drill top - https://www.soccerbible.com/lifestyle/clothing/2025/04/umbro-brings-back-its-iconic-1996-drill-top/ - that Liam wore for the second concert, after he helped himself to it while wandering around the stadium. And although I haven't heard anything yet about Burberry planning to rerelease their jacket that Liam wore for the start of the first concert, it's getting media attention, in this article - https://www.esquire.com/style/mens-fashion/a65416323/gene-gallagher-jacket-oasis-reunion-shows/ - and others, because it's a family heirloom and Liam's son Gene has been wearing it.

Setlists/times for both concerts at the bottom of this OP.
