1. Those pick-up switches remind me of my first electric guitar

They remind me of house light switches where you push down on one side or the other to turn a pick-up on or off instead of switching between them. My first guitar was in 1965 and it was a Japanese-made Domino Californian, one of the earliest Japanese imports. My parents paid $85 for it and it had the same type of pick-up switches. Here's a pic of the shape of the guitar, modeled on a Vox Phantom. This particular guitar in the pic has the later type of switch (I can't find a picture on the Internet of the exact guitar I had with that type of switch like a light switch). It was decent axe for a first guitar.
