The Kennedy Center’s Board of Trustees filed a last-minute stay in an effort to stop President Donald Trump’s name from being removed from the institution, according to a court filing obtained by ABC News.

A federal judge had initially ruled that renaming the performing arts center was illegal because the venue was established by Congress as a federal memorial to President John F. Kennedy, and ordered that the name be restored to the Kennedy Center by June 12.
