Woman tracks luggage in DC for 3 days after United promised delivery

1. Something similar happened to me, one year

A United flight to Lansing, MI from LA. I arrived home on the 30th of Dec. Somehow my luggage was put on a later flight. My luggage contained gifts for my family. The airline kept assuring me the delivery guy was on his way. For 3 days. I was furious. Eventually I talked to someone who told me the delivery service had confirmed they dropped my luggage at my home. They hadn't.

FINALLY someone called, very apologetic, saying that my luggage had been locked up in the airport, the whole time. It had been put in some office that wasn't unlocked until Jan 2.

United Airlines sent me a WHOLE LOT of stuff, for free. Like a free airline ticket, priority luggage tags, and a huge apology. The airport ended up firing the delivery company. Well, at least that's what they told me.
