Note: I've met and had the pleasure of being around John Mackay - he's sort of an elder statesman of the Democratic Party in Hunterdon County. He also ran (sacrificial lamb) for Raritan Township last year with my buddy Kush.

This is why the State Democratic Party considers Hunterdon County Democrats to be the New Hampshire of NJ.
All HC Committee Members took part in these virtual interviews with the Senate Candidates. I was part of Murphy's pre-Debate debate prep - I fully own that. My second choice has always been Medina-Campos - whose resume really is what it is. John nails my misgivings about Andy. I'll vote for him if he's the nominee - but his lack of support for the ACA and doing nothing to lift the SALT Cap or provide student debt relief sticks in my craw. He has not committed to lifting the filibuster for the two voting rights bills that MUST be passed if we want to hold onto our Democracy.

When we had a virtual interview with Andy Kim, candidate for the Menendez Senate seat, I was impressed. I thought here is a man I can support. He embodies the principals I support. That was until I read about the real Andy Kim in a March 28, 2024 article in NJTODAY.net. Andy Kim pledged to support Medicare for all, the universal health insurance program. He broke that promise as soon as he took office. He not only opposed Medicare for all Andy Kim wanted to eliminate the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare - just like Donald Trump).

Andy Kim said he supports single-payer and multi-payer healthcare and we should keep our options open. If you know anything about healthcare you know that America has a multi-payer system and 40,000 citizens die each year because about 100 million of us are uninsured or under insured. Kim’s national security record with the Obama administration was a failure.

Kim’s claim that he worked for President George W. Bush was embellished.Kim claimed he wrote a book about the U.S. government’s war against ISIS but no book was found. Kim has shown that he has no problem padding his resume however that is not as bad as not telling the truth about where he stands on health insurance or relieving student debt.
In recent weeks Andy Kim criticized and condemned the line ballot system in New Jersey. That was before he became the beneficiary of that corrupt system by being endorsed by 17 of 19 New Jersey counties. Andy Kim claims that he is working hard ‘to lower everyday costs for New Jersey families,’ but inflation during his tenure has spiked higher than any time since 1981, reaching 9.1 percent in June 2022, to set a 41-year record.

While some families are unable to buy a dozen eggs, the Congressman who is “working hard” to lower everyday costs for New Jersey families, has outspent every competitor in every campaign he has ever been in. This is the true Andy Kim and this is why he will not get my vote.
