but, the campaign to get young stupid men to sign up... especially based on that 50k signing bonus... means there are going to be a lot of stupid guys out there who know nothing about anything. And the younger they are, the worse they're going to be.
I have a grandson who's barely 18. We live in a small city in the Midwest... not much to do around here except grocery stores, etc. My other grandson came home in a hissy fit because his brother was falling prey to this "large money" talk. Told him to tell bro to watch a bunch of the videos on YouTube before committing to anything. Also told him "Grandma" didn't think any good of this at all; that it was bad, it was evil, and it was cruel... NOT what I thought this young grandson's character truly was.
I think it might have had an impact; he's still working at WalMart last I knew. But I still worry... jobs and the economy being what it is, especially around here for someone with nothing more than a high school diploma. To make it, he's renting a house with 3 other roommates. At least his conscience is still clear, I hope.
