It's completely unfair both candidates because they have carefully side-stepped the racist baiting through this whole campaign. If Ed Gainey had done a better job of bringing the non-profits together and getting them to agree to (some form of) city taxes, I think the outcome would be different today. He's not a bad mayor overall, but we're really in a bind.
