1. Is it too late to delete the question from the census?

Clearly it's another form of voter suppression writ large. By decreasing the number of people who get counted, it hurts states like my own California insofar as population determine how many seats we get in Congress. Our representatives already have their votes diluted by representing millions of people each vs. Alaska, whose sole representative serves only 740,00 people.
