DME is obviously the best option in a technical sense for self propelled vehicles, to the extent they are necessary. It is also the best option for portable fuels and stored fuels.

It is unfortunate however that what is best if not always, perhaps not even commonly, adopted.

The fossil fuel industry is a powerful interest, and very slick; witness the marketing of rebranding them as "green hydrogen" as an example.

I have pronuclear acquaintances who swear up and down - perhaps in a somewhat conspiratorial theoretical way - that the antinuclear industry is a creation of the fossil fuel interests. I'm not sure I believe that, but it would be, and is, in the interest of the fossil fuel industry to oppose nuclear energy. They are, after all, selling, buying and burning coal in Germany.

Nuclear generated DME would be a real benefit to humanity, but realistically, I'm sure it won't happen in my lifetime, but perhaps it will in a better and safer time.
