9. Advocacy for Wind and Solar energy is consistent with mainstream Climate Activism

People like Bill McKibbon and many other Climate Activists encourage development of Solar and Wind energy as alternatives to the use of fossil fuels. Any news of commitment to using these effective alternative energy sources is welcome.

The Good News from Germany is still the following:

The participants in this week’s North Sea Summit in Hamburg committed to building 15 GW of offshore wind per year over 2031-2040. Country leaders including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz confirmed the goal of 300 GW on the so-called North Seas by 2050.

Maybe Germany should not have shut down their Nuclear plants. I don't know, but it was a consensus decision for the German people. I'm not really interested in comparisons between nuclear and renewables because I don't see a zero sum game between them. I advocate positively for Wind and Solar. I have not made an effort to discourage use of nuclear energy, beyond stating that strict safety standards and regulations must be maintained.

I'll continue to respond to any posts I see containing denialism or distortion about Wind and Solar to help other readers spot misinformation.
