2. Explain how transportation systems (e.g. airplanes, cars) will work with only nuclear energy and without energy storage.

Energy storage (e.g. fuels) may not be ideal from the "thermodynamic" view, but it may sometimes be good from the economic view. In some cases, it may be better to use energy to produce a fuel (e.g. hydrogen) that can power transport systems, rather that hooking each transport vehicle to an electric grid or putting a nuclear reactor on each vehicle. A fuel can also power redundant power systems, etc.

If you think energy storage is bad, then suggest an alternative.

Nuclear energy is a way. It's not the only way.
