It's certainly possible that the Trump/Vance/Musk effort to bolster the AfD will actually deter voters who were flirting with the fascists - it was an ugly spectacle.

Just as the horrible example of Brexit had a dampening affect on exit movements within the remaining countries - the law of unintended consequences.
