Russians Just Evacuated Russians From Russia - Jason Jay Smart [View all]
Russians are evacuating Russians from Russia after Ukraine struck more than 1,000 km (621 miles) inside the country near St. Petersburg, Vladimir Putins hometown. Fire hit critical Russian facilities, including the naval arsenal at Kronstadt, while Moscow tells its own people the war is still under control.
Putin triggered this invasion, rejected a serious path to peace, and now the war is reaching back into Russia itself. Ukraine is destroying nearly 8 Russian military transport vehicles every hour, while Russia buys tiny territorial gains with massive losses and more than 140,000 troops face supply starvation behind the front.
Russia is burning through soldiers, vehicles, artillery shells, fuel, and cash as civilians try to flee Crimea and shortages spread through occupied territory. Moscow faces less than 90 days of liquid reserves at the current burn rate, but Putin is still betting on time. Ukraine is making every extra month more expensive for the army, the economy, and the regime.
