And here I am again. In addition to Solanas’ manifesto, another explicitly feminist piece of work I really liked was the movie Promising Young Woman. I was watching it a lot in 2023 when still grieving my mom while dealing with other bullshit.

I can’t really feel preachy, ponderous stuff..there is a savage side to feminism that being a civilized woman in a barbaric society is all about. It’s why I have generally found horror a better vehicle for feminism than anything conventional.

As a childfree older woman navigating a society that despises single, older women of solitary disposition, I feel a lot of anger I try to hide.
