New symptoms to look out for on Delta variant

We're all aware now of the symptoms associated with Covid-19: a cough, fever and loss of smell or taste being the key ones.

But now, researchers say a headache, sore throat and running nose are the most commonly reported symptoms linked to coronavirus infection in the UK.

Prof Tim Spector, who runs the Zoe Covid Symptom study, says catching the Delta variant can feel more like "a bad cold" for younger people.

But although they may not feel very ill, they could be contagious and put others at risk.
