5. Does your surgeon's practice have a social worker on staff? They can work wonders with the system.

The docs mean well but they focus on the one part they worked on and forget their is a whole person and a family situation attached to that and there are other and broader needs. The social workers are better advocates for your situation. Your PCP practice may also have one that can help. Wish you the best.
