You can sign up for other paid providers thru Amazon Prime, just one click to try for a month, and since it is thru amazon there is no need to create a whole membership account in the service you sign up for.
So I add a new " channel" watch the available shows I want to see, cancel it, and try another one.

Right now I am watching the Topix channel, they have some things I've been looking for. when I have seen them, I will drop topix and maybe get HBO, it's been a couple years since I have seen their shows.

Can't remember if Amazon carries IMDB.....I do notice that more and more channels/carriers are coming on line every week or so...
