1. Hi, I had Stage IV SCC on my tonsils in 2009.

I refused a feeding tube, but lost most of my saliva and taste buds to radiation. It took me from May til October before I could eat stuff that didn't taste like dirty socks. Then my jaw bone developed a hole, so it wasn't until June, or 13 months later, that I began to feel like a human being again.

Hang in there and find a SPOHNC group near by. Attend a meeting or two.
