As I understand it, it would be useless in the absence of coadministration of a checkpoint inhibitor, the most famous of which is Keytruda, Pembroliumab.
However, looking at ClinicalTrials.gov, there appears to be only one clinical trial underway; it's in Los Angeles. This suggests that it's not a hot topic. It is recruiting. Apparently the mechanism is to increase accessibility of tumors to T cells.
Breast Cancer is not really a single disease. There are subtypes, the most difficult to treat being triple negative. I have recently heard that there is some progress even for this.
My sister-in-law is a 8 year survivor of HER positive; She got by with just a lumpectomy. That was the last time I looked in the literature to study breast cancer so my general knowledge of the subject may be dated. I need to emphasize that I am not a physician. Neither is your wife's aunt.
It is difficult, as I know well, "to go with the program," when "the program" is not giving a desired result. Many forms of breast cancer are curable depending on cell type and the time of discovery but some are not. Oncologists are certainly aware of the best treatment options, if in fact, the exist.
I would go with the program if it were me, and right now the program doesn't appear to include Ivermectin.
We all, I'm sure, wish you success and peace.
