9. It turned out I was not fully emptying my bladder

I saw a urologist when I was in the hospital for something else, and they noticed I wasn't peeing much, so they did a bladder ultrasound, which showed a good bit of urine left when I thought I was done. I'm trying to block out the memory of the catheterization.

Out of the hospital, the urologist told me that a lot of old ladies retain urine, and it can lead to infection. He showed me how to, when I'm done peeing, lean forward on the toilet until my chest is on my thighs, and give a little push, as if I'm trying to move my bowels. I was surprised that I still had that much urine in me. So that's something you might try--the price is right, and it's not going to hurt you if it doesn't work (unless you fall off the toilet onto your head. Which I've done. Don't recommend it).

He also told me to take a cranberry supplement pill. And to wash my dildo after every use (snort. That's not true. I just made it up because I'm a little high on my medical marijuana).
