Especially if you use hearing aids. I've had profound hearing loss for 10 years and I've used hearing aids for 9 years. I can only hear unintelligible sound without hearing aids but with both hearing aids and headphones I can hear everything with clarity including music as well as dialog. The difference is night and day.

I prefer earbuds with my smartphone over hearing aids. Again, clarity of voice and music.
