i once drove half way to madison wi from chi, w a dog, thinking we had an appt w the vet clinic at uwm.
along the way, my last stupid thing caught up to me. i had replaced a tire on my car, but it had been so long since i had done that that i didnt tighten the lug nuts enough.
i pulled up to a toll booth, and saw my front tire go bouncing off in front of me. like something out of a cartoon.

when i called to tell them i would be late, they informed me that it was the wrong day. good thing, too, as it turned out to be a bit of an all day job to find a tire for a 30 yo jeep on a tiny little town. fortunately back then most stuff was ac/delco or other common suppliers and a tire from an old chevy truck worked fine.

anyway, is this an initial disability claim or a renewal? my former roommate was severely disabled and iirc, was able to apply over the phone. there was some mailing back and forth of docs, and medical info, but pretty sure she never had to go to the office.
had a long phone interview.

if you havent already gotten this advice- the big thing to focus on is how your problems affect the "activities of daily life". getting dressed, cooking, bathing, etc. make specific note of those things, as that is their measure.

good luck honey.
