3. Red oak, looks like 1.5"?

One and half inches is an older style, but I was able to find some to make do the last three feet of a hallway, where a previous remodel didn't have done. Mine looked much worse than your's prior to sanding and finishing with a clear poly. I would say that you are going to be very happy as long as they do a good job.
