2. Have used Boiled Linseed oil(diluted w/ Turpentine) for years. What I do:

After use, I drape the rags and and other things like used steel wool over the edge of an old trash barrel outside. Once they dry, add to my regular trash. Never had a problem.

I also have used paint remover with the same precautions. Dry out any rags, wool, scrapings and dispose as your town requires. Mine could go into the regular trash after drying.
