Advice for indoor plants? [View all]

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]My son gave me the lovely, light green tabletop fountain pictured below quite a few years ago. The pump has long since died and the fountain has been collecting dust for a while, but now I'd like to use it as a planter on the coffee table. It is overall 10.5 inches in diameter and 8 inches high, and the center opening is 2.5 inches in diameter.

What kinds of plants would you recommend for this purpose? There's good light from the windows, but no direct sun. I'd like two different plants (preferably easy care) that would get along, one kind in the center (not too tall) and something else in the outer ring.

Suggestions/recommendations?
