I’ll go first once we had to search for 3 guys from the 504th PIR who got lost on the way to mess hall. It was when I was in 325 PIR we were on react at that time ready to deploy anywhere in the world in eighteen hours.
We found our Airborne brethren two days later scavenging in a dumpster twenty six feet from mess hall rear door, the images of those men in the dumpster trying to survive eating leftover day old shit on a shingle still haunt me to this day.
