It is set in Texas after WWI and even after the awful events in the first 2 chapters, I think it will be a good book. I already like the main character, so it's off to a good start.

So happy that you liked The Power of the Dog, Enthusiast (and Mrs. E). It was one of the most satisfying books I've ever read and it was sort of surprising that it's never appeared on those selections of "books you might like..." that appear on amazon, B&N, overdrive, etc.
