Science Guy Bill Nye picks Guardians for 2025 World Series win [View all]

Cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians will win the 2025 World Series championship according to science.

Well, according to Science Guy Bill Nye, that is.

Nye, renowned as one of America’s most trusted television hosts and science advocates from his multiple-Emmy Award winning programs for children, thinks Stephen Vogt and the Guards have what it takes to hoist the Commissioner’s Trophy in October.

During an appearance Wednesday on MLB Network’s Hot Stove program, host Matt Vasgersian asked Nye for a prediction. Without hesitating, the bow tie-clad former mechanical engineer offered the Guardians as his pick.

Science guy, yes. Math guy, no. Cleveland is 24th in active payroll (26-man) at $75,777,500. The Mets and Dodgers spend over four times more at $320,450,000 and $303,851,665.

Then there are those 21 other teams.
