There is a main story line that follows the character's development over the years. It begins in the 1920s. It starts where June, a registered nurse, returns to the home where she grew up, to take care of her niece, after June's older sister, and her brother in law are murdered. June ends up solving their murders, and eventually decides to become a detective. It also delves into her romance with a World War I pilot Jack, and the lives of her family, friends, and coworkers.

Besides the main game where you advance the storyline, by finding hidden objects, there are little side games, where you can win power ups like coins, gems, and flowers that help you move ahead faster in the main part of the game. You can also buy those but if you're not careful those purchases add up. You can play without them it's just much slower to progress.

In addition you also get to decorate islands with different themes like African wild life, holidays, the cultures of different countries.

The company that runs it is in Germany, but apparently they sponsor live party events around the world, where players can meet each other and the staff. I don't go to those. Sometimes the staff also does little skits on You Tube as the character's where players can win prizes for helping solve the mysteries they are acting out.

It's pretty fun.
