'It's a mess and I've never seen anything like it': global lost luggage crisis mounts

3. We were prepared for the worst when we came to the USA last month

Instead of losing our luggage, KLM/Delta lost the crew. KLM got our luggage from the short hop from Düsseldorf to Amsterdam. The flight was almost an hour late (longer than the flight itself!). But the Delta flight from Amsterdam to Boston was also delayed, and the KLM staff handling the check-in scanned our baggage stubs, and said all four bags were on board.

Unfortunately, the crew was not on board, or anywhere else, apparently. Scheduled to depart Amsterdam at 2:40 PM, it finally departed at 9:00 AM the next morning.

But hey, our luggage made it!
