He agonized over the decisions he made, and was pleading for God to give him guidance. It's no wonder he suffered so much from depression. I've often wondered if he could have been President during the television age, with his rough features and gangliness and his depressive personality. He wouldn't even make it through the primaries. Makes you wonder how many Lincolns have been weeded out by the system we have today.
