...started forming at the grocery stores yet?

We lived just outside of DC near Andrews AFB for 8 years, during my husband's last Air Force assignment. The 4 years before that were spent in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

The contrast could not have been more extreme. In the UP, our area averaged 220 inches of snow per winter season, and people laugh at snow. The blades on the snowplows must be at least 12 feet tall. In DC and surrounding areas, people freak out if snow is even forecast, let alone if it actually falls.
